The American accent miraculously took second place in global esteem, followed by Irish, Australian, and French accents. The French may trail a few others in vocal appeal, but they lay claim to the world's best city for dating: Paris garnered an 83 out of 100 on a scale that measured locals' attitudes toward single living.Let’s start off with jobs, as I know this was a controversial one this morning on Twitter! Despite the realities of dating a lawyer or banker (one of the girls I studied law with at uni texted me at 1.30am a few nights ago, from work! Most of my non-single friends would end up looking up my dates too …) a worrying number of women listed both professions as their idea dates. Now there are two interesting points to be made on these stats. and I know that’s not uncommon behaviour ahead of a date, so if anything the number should be over 100%!The feedback was solicited from 11,000 people, mostly from major international cities where the magazine publishes a local edition.Participants also voted Paris and Melbourne as the top two cities for dating (83 percent and 81 percent, respectively). But here's why you're in this article: they all share the hottest accent in the world!’s Global Dating Survey, Brits have the sexiest accent, garnering a whopping 27% of the vote.
I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty excited about 2015. One of the first things I’ve been involved with in my role, is a global survey for singles all over the world.
In 2009, Irish topped the list as world's sexiest accent in a poll of 5,000 women; French placed fourth while British finished at No. For now, though, the British accent can enjoy its reign.
regular readers will remember last month I launched the Time Out Global Dating Survey, as part of my new global role as Head of Dating for the multimedia group.
Irish accents took third place (or “turd” place, if you ask an Irish person) in the report, with 8.1%.
Surprisingly, the Aussie accent only got 8% of the vote, while France, where everyone’s mistress has another man, took just 7.7% of votes.
And what better subject to start with than Time Out’s own global dating survey?
